Sharing Hope Africa, Inc. was founded in 2021 to empower and support communities in Licilo, Mozambique and Siteki, Eswatini.

In 2020, the Sharing Hope Africa (SHA) team formed with the goals of building upon the legacy left by One Heart Africa, a nonprofit that was dissolved in 2020. One Heart Africa started in 2010 with the dream of empowering a rural community in Licilo, Mozambique. Through teaming up with a local, African-lead organization named Eswatini-based Sharing Hope, these dreams became a reality (read more about Eswatini-based Sharing Hope here).

One Heart Africa was able to accomplish an incredible amount over the course of a decade; they opened the Sharing Hope Preschool, providing 100+ children with quality education, nutritious meals, and much-needed health care each year. This project led to the installation of boreholes (water wells), which has provided 850+ individuals with access to clean water in Mozambique. In 2013, through generous donations and their partnership with the local Sharing Hope organization they were able to start a farm in the Lubombo Valley region of Eswatini (formerly known as Swaziland). From 2018 – 2020, One Heart Africa underwent an organizational change as the original founders made the decision to pursue other opportunities in their lives. This was a painful time for the organization, ultimately leading to the decision to close the chapter on OHA. However, through One Heart Africa’s unforgotten and invaluable work first done by the their team, now Sharing Hope Africa, Inc. is able to continue supporting the projects they began. SHA will also continue to work in close partnership with the Eswatini organization Sharing Hope.

Our team is excited to continue to work in partnership with our incredible EmaSwati and Mozambican counterparts who have been a part of the journey since OHA began in 2010.

Sharing Hope Africa, Inc. is ready to work tirelessly to support and empower individuals, communities, and organizations in southern Africa through meaningful partnerships. We have learned a lot about effectively supporting the community and how to turn short-term donations into long-term change. We have an operational team based in the United States and Europe that works closely with our team on the ground in Mozambique and Eswatini; by listening to and working with local community leaders, we are able to better serve and empower them. 

We believe that solutions for long-term change lie in partnership; equipping, educating, and empowering others is the best way to help communities in need.
